Ada Police Department
Protecting and Serving Ada, Ohio Since 1861
Michael Harnishfeger, CLEE
Chief of Police
Special Response Team
The Ada Police Department is a member of the Hardin County Special Response Team (SRT). The SRT is made up of the Hardin County Sheriff's Office, Kenton Police Department and the Ada Police Department. Our agencies, each with limited resources, understand the importance of working together for the combined good of all of our residents and the SRT is one resource that is critically important to have available with hopes that their deployments are seldom called for.
The SRT is called out for a number of responses including high risk warrant service, barricaded suspects, hostage situations, search warrant execution and various situations that require specialized training and tactics.
The SRT is constantly training to hone their skills and maintain a high degree of response readiness. We believe that our SRT members, due to the intense training required by their SRT involvement make them better prepared to serve in generalized patrol as well. The Ada Police Department currently has 2 officers that are assigned to the Hardin County Special Response Team.
